PIVOTAL CHARACTERS IN THE GITA - Introduction to Gita Week: 20-26 August 2024
Arjuna
- అర్జున – The heroic prince and warrior, who is confused and
morally troubled about fighting in the Kurukshetra war, seeking Krishna's
counsel.
Yudhishthira
- యుధిష్ఠిర – The
eldest of the Pandava brothers, known for his righteousness and adherence to
dharma (duty).
BHeema - భీమ – The second Pandava brother, known for his immense
strength and loyalty.
Nakula
- నకుల –
The third Pandava brother, renowned for his skills in horse riding and his
handsome appearance.
Sahadheva
- సహదేవ – The
youngest Pandava brother, known for his wisdom and knowledge of astrology.
DhuryodHana
– దుర్యోధన – The
eldest of the Kaurava brothers and the main antagonist, who seeks to overthrow
the Pandavas and claim the throne.
DHritharaashtra
- ధృతరాష్ట్ర – The blind king of the Kauravas and father of
Duryodhana, who is unable to act decisively due to his attachment to his sons.
Sanjaya
- సంజయ – The charioteer and advisor to King Dhritarashtra,
who narrates the events of the battlefield and the teachings of Krishna to the
king.
Karna
- కర్ణ – A great warrior and friend of Duryodhana, known for
his loyalty and his tragic fate, often seen as a complex figure with a noble
yet conflicted character.
